Do I have to book to come on the River Boat Bar? No you don’t, but it’s best to book if you have a group of people coming to ensure you’ll have a seat.
Why doesn’t the River Boat Bar move? The River Boat Bar is moored to give you the flexibility to come and leave (on our water taxi) when you want. Private Charters (booking the whole boat) do have the option of cruising.
Where do I board the River Boat Bar? Boarding is from Penrith Boat Ramp (opposite Eastbank Restaurant precinct) on Tench Avenue in Jamisontown.
How do I board the River Boat Bar? Just jump on our water taxi at the boat ramp and we’ll take you over to The River Boat Bar. Last pickup (lockout) is 9.30pm Friday & Saturday nights and 3pm on Sundays.
How do I get off the River Boat Bar? Please ask one of our friendly staff and they will organise for you to board the water taxi take you back to the jetty.
Do we have to get on and off the the River Boat Bar at a certain time? No. You are welcome to board and leave at any time during our opening hours however we do ask you to nominate your arrival time to ensure your seats are ready. If you have booked a Private Charter you will have access to the River Boat Bar for the agreed period of your Charter.
What time does the River Boat Bar close? Fridays and Saturdays we are open until 11PM and the last water taxi pickup to come onboard is 9.30PM. Sundays we close at 6PM and the last water taxi pickup is at 4PM.
Is there a lockout time? Our last water taxi pickup at the jetty to come onboard is at 9.30PM and 4PM on a Sunday.
Can I book the whole upstairs VIP Area? Yes! You can book the whole VIP area upstairs (50 people maximum) however you must pay entry fee for 50 people. Please contact our office on 02 4733-1888 or email us via this website or to info@theriverboatbar.com.au
How many people do I need to book the whole upstairs VIP Area? You can have as many people as you like however you must pay for 50 people to charter the whole VIP area. The maximum allowed on the upper deck is 50 people.

Do you sell drinks other than Cocktails? Yes! We have a fully stocked bar on both levels with all your favourites. We also have Peroni, Great Northern and Brookvale Union Ginger Beer on tap.
Why can’t I wear high heels? For safety reasons (you are hopping off and on boats that move) it is better if you do not wear really high platforms or stiletto heels. Flats and small heels are preferred.
What happens if someone jumps off the boat into the water? Jumping off the boat or the water taxi is both dangerous and illegal. If a member of your group jumps off the boat they will be loaded onto the water taxi and they and your whole group will be asked to leave the the River Boat Bar immediately (no exceptions and no refund). Failure to comply with directions will necessitate a call for the Police to meet you at the jetty.
If someone in my group doesn’t come can I get a refund? No, however you are welcome to substitute another person in their place.
